Testicular Manslaughter is LA musician Dana Young. Another name that can join the elusive list of Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti players, alongside Gary War, John Maus et al.
This intriguing link certainly has some influence in Testicular Manslaughters own output, although perhaps his collection of lo-fi home recordings are more industrial, and concrete than what some of his counterparts have offered.
Before moving away from that, one clear difference between Testicular Manslaughter and the aforementioned musicians is the level of output. Dana records album after album of quality releases, whereas John Maus takes approximately four years to produce one.
Now after the background is set, lets talk about the music. Screaming synths, dance beats, a voice pumping through the 80s fueled mist. Listen to "Mark Gonzales" and pick a year from 1980 onwards, tell your friends that it's from that year. They will believe you. Thorizine Punk is almost timeless in its delivery.
A European tour is about to commence, after which I hope that Dana Young receives the acclaim that like his peers, he truly deserves.
