Maus Space

I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

my friend picked me up one of geneva jacuzzi's "secret demo vol. 2" CD's in montreal and just gave it to me this weekend. she wrote "do not upload to the internet" on the insert so I'm gonna respect her wishes and not be the one to leak it, but one of the songs features ariel and I couldn't help but share just this one!

19. much too late for goodbye ft. ariel pink
Thanks for sharing! Julian Lennon cover song if anyone didn't recognize. Was a #1 single but over 30 years ago.
Used to love that song! Didn't know it made it to #1 but it was on the radio quite a bit.

Midlife crises are kinda rough, but they can be kinda righteous too. I'm well into mine right now. I've gotten in pretty good physical shape and I'm writing songs more frequently. I'm also drinking more, but that's the price you pay sometimes. :kebab:

Very good interview by the way. I always love reading his interviews because it's always a very honest picture of where his head's at at the time. It's not always consistent from day to day - he's not reading off a script. I guess that rubs some people the wrong way, but not me. Celebrities are held to such a weird standard. He's done a good job resisting that, though I can tell it wears on him a bit.

Ha! I had no idea he co-wrote When You Die by MGMT. Now that I know I can definitely hear it though.

The three songs they've released are brilliant! Can't wait to hear the album in full!

Got a chance to meet them 4 years ago. They are great guys!

Some of you might have seen the Doldrums CD-R, but I found some other items I thought I'd share. There's this site called worthpoint.com, it's basically an eBay archive. Found some cool Ariel Pink releases that were sold a while back. Does anyone have a worthpoint.com account? I'd love to see what these sold for, plus there might be some higher quality images.

Edit: Signed up for a free trial. The quality of the images were the same, but I updated the items with the prices they sold for.

The Doldrums first edition CD-R
Sold March 07, 2011 for $22
This is a first pressing CDR of Ariel Pink's "The Doldrums" album.
Initially pressed by Pink himself on homemade CDRs with self designed cover art in a similar manner to the original Glass Candy & The Shattered Theater CDRs.
These discs were only sold at gigs, though mostly given out to industry, press & friends; it was in this manner that Animal Collective were made aware of Ariel Pink and signed him to their "Paw Tracks" imprint.
Try finding one of these now...impossible.

Grande Exitos advance copy
May 24, 2011 for $24.99
This is the RARE 2009 release from ARIEL PINK'S HAUNTED GRAFFITI. This item is a Limited Advance CD and contains 23 tracks. Not available in stores! Comes Packaged in a CARDSLEEVE.
***Promotional Reference Disc***

Yas Dudette 2007 CD-R
Sold July 02, 2011 for $15.99
I bought this CD-R at his show he played at the Independent in San Francisco. Gang Gang Dance headlined and Mick Barr opened the show. This was before Ariel pink formed his current line-up of musicians. Geneva Jacuzzi was the one selling the merch and I believe she had some part in making these unique collage, hand-made gatefold covers.
