Maus Space

I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

the following lyrics are unofficial. help me out man

Forever and Ever and Ever

and i don't like waiting[?]

well fear, fear is the future
and regret is my past
and you are my angel
yes you are my angel baby
you are my angel
yes you are my angel darling
you are my angel
my angel

forever and ever

well i am smaller than everyone
and i am in love with you
uh huh
cause you are my angel baby
yes you are my angel
you are my angel darling
my angel
you are my angel

forever and ever

i'm thinking about death again
i'm working out equations
i guess my soul's just older
i've seen a lot more
and this is it, your war [?]
hop on this cadaver
fearful, with soft eyes
the light [?]
the light

fear, fear is the future
and regret is my past

This might be my favorite John Maus song, period.

He mentioned in a recent interview that if he wasn't studying philosophy or making music he would have studied math. This is sort of hit upon in this song as well as 'the study' ("you can take those numbers, girl...").

Must agree to all those revisions, but I also hear "a powerless cadaver, fearful..." rather than "hop on this."

I always heard it as "well I am smarter than everyone/and I'm in love with you." I've always loved that line.

I also hear "a powerless cadaver" and I hear "and this is its reward."

I also always thought it was "I've been thinking about life again," but I really hope it IS "math," cause that line is way better.

Again, agreed on all those changes, definitely "this is it's reward". I think it is 'math', as Plucky pointed out earlier, it makes sense with the following line about "working out equations" as well.

I think the line should read:

"well i am smarter than everyone"

Fits the motif of mathematics in this song, and also ties in with the song Big Dumb Man I feel. As far as the final section, here are some corrections:

I guess my soul's just older
I'll sing a lot more
And this is its reward...
A powerless cadaver
Fearful, with soft eyes
(the light?) (the lies?)

The last two words I am unsure of.

Well, all that I read here is my angel, my angel baby and darling and so on. It does not make me feel. When you write a lyrics, write it from your heart. Never write up something for making it look like a rhyme and make it sound good. When you write it from your heart, it will sound good automatically. That is how it is.
