I felt rather morbid picking this dvd up over the weekend. It's a documentary about the Holocaust. Saw it a long time ago and haven't watched it since. Powerful

WEll I made the mistake of watching Moonrise Kingdom over the weekend. Everyone seemed to love it except me and my brother.

I 've been watching a show called Eastbound & Down, the second season wasn't so good but the third looks promising

Haven't finished the second season of Eastbound and Down yet. Why didn't you like Moonrise Kingdom? I didn't think it was Wes Anderson's best, but I dug it.

It was way too formulaic and flat for me. And I don't care about tired puberty struggles or vacuous quasi-romance. Lacked dimension and edge IMHO. I wondered why the movie received universal praise from critics...I was hoping that he had gone in a slightly different direction. I didn't hate it as much as The Darjeeling Limited, but I nearly fell asleep! Also, I heard some pseudo intellectual conversation about CGI going on behind me and watched an abysmal trailer for the Great Gatsby before the film. Didn't help. I was thinking the whole time that I'd be in a better place watching this TLJ/Wuhl classic on VHS:

I can see where you're coming from. I would have liked more stuff from the supporting cast, and it took me awhile to get into it. And Darjeeling Limited, that was a snoozefest to be sure.
