Liam didn't stay over!!! He should have. John was trying to get Liam to stay, but he had to go back to Preston. Gig was soooo ridiculously exciting!!
First of all it was a huge mixed bag of sounds, Ray Speedway opened and he was really quite cool. Then came Everything and the kitchen sink, who are just weird. Then the Delmars played for the first time in 6-9 years, and were pretty tight, then came John Maus...
He is super energetic, and literally bounces all over the place, and dances with anyone who passes within his vicinity. I have no idea what songs were played as pretty much the entire night was a blur, but it was fantastic! When John left the stage, Clancy tried to stop the sound person to allow him to play more, and I had to ask him if he'd like to play some more, and he was wanting to but he said to me that he didn't know if people were really into him - it's quite the different impression that I got, and some guy tapped me on the shoulder and said he was blown away, so I think the english reservedness maybe confused him! There were a few people dancing though. Coki danced lots, and to the side there was this weird band that played at Caz's engagement party, and they were dancing around, and actually playing tambourines and acoustic guitar adding random noise..albeit you could hardly hear them any way.
After the show we went back to the hotel and John, Adri and Coki stayed up until around 3ish before heading to bed, I lasted until around about 5am and ended up sleeping at the hotel too.
I'm uploading pics now!!
I hope that John had a nice stay, I got the impression that he sort of liked his brief visit to Blackpool, and we tried to look after him okay!
Oh, I bought both CDs from him - although he tried to give them me, and I know that someone else bought a CD too, he said that he hadn't sold a CD since London, and so at least he got some money! I also have a Mausshirt, which is falling into a zillion pieces already.
He wrote a really nice message on one of the CDs too, which was super nice. I actually think that a few of my friends are now going to check out his stuff, as they were all really happy yay!!
