Maus Space

I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

meewillis, the Howard Dean song is an early version of "Rights for Gays" and Ariel's "This Is Your Love Song" is probably the same as "Neverendinglovesong." A snippet of the Dean song and an early version of "Pure Rockets" can be found on "A Bunch of BS." Hope that helps and thanks for sharing.

How did you get this? Can you upload the CD? Does anyone have a tracklist?

I bought it from the band on tour in 2008. Unfortunately, it was stolen (lost?) by a gallery I lent it to while preparing a project. The cover image is from the CD inlay - each CD-R had original one of a kind artwork. Luckily I ripped the whole disc.

song feels so special..has such a different, more floaty quality, than the other cool skeletal stuff on Underground (tractor man, title track, don't look back). though i like that stuff a lot too.
love the "popsicle sticks for 50 cents, man" verse. permeates ease
really wish i could've heard this in 1999 like Maus mentions...

That's too bad about it getting stolen. Can you upload it for us?

A bit off topic, but I just saw the Howard Dean convo (Howard Dean's campaigning style was a little bit Macho Man Randy Savage, no?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwkNnMrsx7Q). Always wanted to read that Songs in the Key of Z book. More intrigued now, even though I'm familiar with most of the weirdos featured now. I actually met Tiny Tim at Spookyworld before he died (I was probably around ten years old). And The Shaggs are from my home state. *Proud*

Lots of outsider artists in that region, including J.D. Brennan & Gold Fever!

AYY LMAO you're right. He clearly says "dean for america" @ 2:27 on "A Bunch of BS". Neverendinglovesong seems melodically similar to rights for gays, too, although the version on DUH! is pretty weirdly mixed/sloppy...(Yknow, kinda outta control like the end of "shower me in lipstick" or "be good to your parents").

neverendinglovesong = this is your love song

Anyway it looks like we can put together a tracklisting(order unknown) of the original "VITAL PINK" CD-R:
VITAL PINK wrote:

SHAVEN
YOUNG PILOT ASTRAY
DRIVING TO THE GRAVE
THIS IS YOUR LOVE SONG
CRYING
THE BOTTOM
SPIRES IN THE SNOW? -> [TIME DANDELION?]
DON'T THINK TWICE (LOVE)
UNTIL THE NIGHT DIES
THEME FROM UNRELEASED "CLARIS GARDENS"
LETS BUILD A CAMPFIRE THERE
idk, that's 11 tracks, and some absolute favorites...Haunted Graffiti 1.5?
