Maus Space

I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

My sister went on comped tickets because she writes for Louder than War and is so jammy. She got to hang out in the artist's area with an 'escorts' stamp (ooh lala) and had a great night. Apparently she was trying to telepathically send me images of the set because she knew how much I wanted to be there, bless her. Can't say anything transmitted successfully, but she said Ariel played until 2:30am! I'm still waiting for her photos!

Just had a Skype IM conversation about this, which was very to the point.
My sister: Oh yeah you know what was cool?
He did that cheek popping thing
Snapping his finger inside his cheek for that percussive noise :P
Me: Wow, wish I could do that.
Ariel armpit farts.
My sister: you know that song
with the 'POP!'
Me: yeah 'Let's Build a Campfire There'?
Me: That really has a POPPP
My sister: Hang on I will find it
The 'chorus' part has that big 'POP!'
and then the guitars come in
Me: hmmm it's not 'Campfire'?
My sister: Don't think so
Damn, I am being so dumb
I know this song inside out, too
Which one is it?
He did the cheek pop a few times till it was loud and satisfactory
Each time
Me: L'estat? You know that one, where it goes POP! and then he goes CHHHIIIIIIIIIRRRRRUUUUUUUUHHHHP!!! and then the instruments come in
And then it goes dooo dooo doo doo dooo dooo dodoo doo
My sister: Thank fuck, that's the one
Me: Thank fuck.

We are kinda idiots. You're welcome.

My sister said there was a projector screen behind Ariel playing a horror movie montage. Wish that telepathy had worked.

He just retweeted me a second time, too! I'm flattered. And I meant what I said 100%.

that show looks like it would have been pretty awesome. great to see ariel playing bass at the show.
i've always really admired his bass playing. hopefully he will keep it up for the next time he comes to aus.

is there any decent video footage that anyone knows of?

How can he do Witchhunt AND Trep Earth for an encore? That guy is nuts!
in a good way of course.
I would have seriously wet my pants if I'd been there.

"ariel pink made me wet my pants" - I think I am going to make a button for that. :)

I would wear it every day, along with a sturdy diaper.

It's a continuation of the everything is ariel's fault series of buttons, and ya I started that WAY before that guy said everything was Ariel's fault, but you don't see me getting any credit. haha - ARIEL PINK MADE ME WRECK MY CAR - that's true. Facts of Destiny... I got so swept away and couldn't pay attention to my surroundings..somewhat dangerous to listen to Ariel and drive, isn't it?

:) Yeah I commented recently in another thread that I was listening to Trepanated Earth in the car, and when it was over, I realized I had driven all the way to Brazil at 200 MPH.

figuratively speaking, of course. but I had indeed lost track of my surroundings. I often wonder how I can do that and not get in an accident.

ARIEL PINK MADE ME ALMOST GET IN A CAR ACCIDENT
