Maus Space

I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

Here's my ten favorites, today at least, no particular order:

Butt House Blondies
Young Pilot Astray
Witch Hunt Suite for WW III
Howling at the Moon
Oceans of Weep
Don't Talk to Strangers
Scared Famous
Trepanated Earth
The Drummer
Until the Night Dies

I'm a fan. Really great melody in the verses.

I had it on full volume in the car yesterday, and when it was over, I realized I'd driven all the way to Brazil.

If I am driving and get to my destination with trep earth on, I cannot get out of the car until it is over....its some crazy OCD thing - I've heard the song a million times now but just can't seem to turn it off in the middle.... the first time I heard it live in 2009 I almost died - it sounded so good.... and ariel was sick, his voice was all jacked up and it was still so great - one of the best memories ever out of all the shows I have been to.....I don't think I ever fully appreciated it until I heard it live...

That's one thing I can say about the show I went to, It was really cool hearing Trepanted Earth live.
At first, I never really liked it, I always just skipped it and never really listened to it. (I have yet to listen to Worn Copy from beginning to end, in one listening session... to me...It's kind of hard to get through. I'm I the only one?)
But now, I'm at the point where it's one of my favorite songs, I can listen to this 10 MINUTE SONG and not even mind how long it is, or get bored and want to listen to something else.
That's how you know it's a good song, not a lot of people can make a good long song.

Worn Copy has always been one of my favourite APHG records. For some reason I have never found it a challenge. It's just such a consistent, enthralling listen to me. Also there's something kind of satisfying about playing Trepenaded Earth really loudly when you have family staying.
