Maus Space

I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

Girlseeker fuck yeah! Never heard of this band. Nice sounds, I'm heading to their bandcamp to check out the rest of their stuff. :666D:
They're rock'n'roll, for sure. 8D

Been building up a list of gamey Italo delights I've found at random on youtube...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ae_5ofBJ9fA
Attila - Video Games d'Amore. Groovy modulations lurk in the murk.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MehNxw4gi0k
On the same label - Evolution (L&L) - Radio Vocals a bit wtf, as is often the way with Italo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qT-Db14vyk4
Not really Italo but the odd vocals follow on from the last one... Ralph O-Tiger

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cq-FwkIXbUU
Lian - Crymy Mind

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGdSIiVIhSg
Max - Your Love in my Soul. Obvs by the same guy who did Crymy Mind

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHgIPpEqCa0
Suthany - Le Fond de mes Coquillages. Love the tinge of haunted dancehall to this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxLBu0wZOes
Dee Jay Roby - Dance Not Dance. I thought the idea of white labels was to catch pressing errors, so who knows what happened here. But it probs works better than it if it had sounded like it was meant to.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4GpYBvdCFM
Rosanna Residenti - You and Me Tonight. Terrible. Her vocals have all the charm of cat piss on razor wire.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2yIw7bIqnw
Dibany - Hardlover

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrP9MTuQYuk
Daniela - My Life in a Mirror. Excruciating. Never managed to make it to the end of this one. Like an Italian Florence Foster Jenkins (so Firenze Foster Jenkins then, ha ha).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVC92Ruwpmg
Quadro d'Autore - White Stink. Cheeeese! :dancparty:

On a more wavey tip, found a coupla of cool old acts - apols if these have already cropped up here before, haven't read the whole thread!

Organ - Finnish synthy stuff from the early 80s:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdF56NQfZWQ
Their theme chune after they changed their name from Argon. 'Nekrofiilis' = 'Death Mood'. I'm guessing fiilis is a Finnishified version of 'feeling'. But who knows... Bit of a mismatch between the artwork/title and the music - looks doomladen, but is actually rather good fun.

Kolme Prinsessaa (Three Princesses)

Those are my two fave tracks, but everything else I've heard from that LP has been pretty good It's been reissued/remastered on vinyl and CD... might treat myself to a copy. Probs CD due to lack of vinyl space...

Also really been digging French act Comix:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ldwzjl6w7Gk
Walkman Video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2VZPKgM4oA
L'Amour Gratuit

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rswbTvUTaEI
Toi et le Petit Prince

The LP seems really strong (imo). Been kind of holding out for a reissue but I may treat myself to a copy for Christmas. Mebbe...

Addendum - forgot a couple of the Italos:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGTvmAr9lTM
Sissy - Coloured Rhymes

and this awesome pile of shite

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XkkFl-VOWc
Sonia Rochwerg - Les Bisous

According to Discogs this is 'Not On Label (Sonia Rochwerg Self-released)'. Funny dat.

Didn't know whether to put these up on the Randomness thread or not, but it's music, pretty much, so here it is...

June Cleaver and the Steak Knives. Obscure experimental rock from ten years ago or so. I know nothing about them but I have their 4 (digital only, I believe) albums and they're cool.

I got the albums before Bandcamp was a thing, but I checked just now and one of their albums is on Bandcamp now, their 4th (and most art-pop-oriented one). The album above veers much more in the "weird" direction.

I didn't get a chance to listen to the Fever Ray so that's on the agenda for tonight! I wonder what you'll think of it, RG and PS

I've heard some of those, MysteryGuest (MG), but will investigate further w/ your links, thx buddy - love Finnish and Italo stuff
I wish we could post embedded vids here...I guess it makes the forum more vulnerable though

for now, gonna sink my claws into the Paul Major curated compilation

I just ordered the Knife's live CD/DVD that came out earlier this year. Shaking the Habitual is an album that completely turned my head around about electronica. I never knew before that such music could be that emotionally deep and complex. The live show is from that tour. I watched a little on youtube and WOW.

BAMBARA - "Swarm" (2016)

The band I saw opening for Liars. Half of this band then became Angus Andrew's backing band for a killer Liars set. This is really cool and dark gothic punk like the Birthday Party or something along those lines.

Swedish indie pop band Stars in Coma has released two pretty awesome albums this year. http://www.starsincoma.com

Especially like one of the singles, sound like a lost Real Estate/REM track or something https://soundcloud.com/starsincoma/subt ... -exercises

i like most albums this band has released. they usually get filed under the shoegaze category, but imo they have got their own sound going more akin to space rock.
