Maus Space

I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

wow, great pics there! ^^

I've never had the opportunity to meet R. Stevie but I've been a pretty big fan for the last 20 years or so. The first thing I bought by him was the "Greatesttits" CD, a good introduction. I've made it a loose goal of mine to get at least 25 % of his catalog before I die. Good luck with that. He actually toured and came through Atlanta last year but I couldn't make it. Not sure if I'll get another chance.

My favorite R. Stevie Moore song? I guess it would probably be "Your Dancing Ears", but don't hold me to that.

As I said elsewhere I think anyone's life would be enhanced by spending some time with Mr R. Stevie Moore! He is just so loveable and generous. He has an ego, admittedly, but why shouldn't he after all he has achieved (over 40 years of brilliant home recordings to his name)? I admire him for choosing his own path in spite of being an accomplished session musician. He could have just been some puppet in a backing band and made lots of money, but instead he has forged his own musical legacy.
I can't name a single favourite RSM record. I have many and I tend to prefer a few songs from each LP rather than the LPs as cohesive wholes. My favourite right now is "You and Me" from Stevie Moore or Less.

Here's my band Rare Goat's cover of R. Stevie Moore's song "Misplacement". that's me on guitars and voices, and johnny on bass and jack on drums.

This was put together quickly so I could make an entry into the R. Stevie tribute box set "Copy Me" a few years ago. It's safely hidden away in the middle of Volume 7. the other guys in the band had no idea who R. Stevie was, but I told them we'd be on an album, so they went along with it.

Sure, please do! I'd like to think he's heard it already, but with over a hundred covers submitted to him, it's also likely that he hasn't. I believe it's available on his Bandcamp page, at least.

And thanks, Kate! :)

Apparently five bucks from every sale goes directly to the man himself.

Yeah unfortunately for us international fans, shipping is nearly the price of another t-shirt! It's the only thing that's put me off, but I may relent and just get one anyway.

Just watched this, really cool. Ariel and R. Stevie together on stage in Paris last year. Does anybody know what song this is? I'm drawing a blank.

I finally got to collaborate with one of my favorite artists! R Stevie used my drawing for the cover of his new digital album.

This is the full version of my print: http://society6.com/JaimeCartwright/Half-Lives_Print

I am so honoured that he used my work. Best feeling. :truluv:

That's great! Congratulations. :o)
I'd seen that release, since I get notifications when he releases new albums on bandcamp (about 1 per week on average, lol). I'm proud to be able to say I (virtually) know the cover artiste!
