Ooh, coolio. I'm gonna check this out, and probably lend some help to the kickstarter.

Do it! They really need the funding to get back to America and make this happen. It's funny that I was setting up a meeting with the filmmakers in London with the intent of promoting the film for the Tunehawk channel I'm involved with, but apparently they want to interview me.

I met the filmmakers for lunch on Saturday and we had a good chat. Their intent is to make the film appeal to an audience who is not necessarily already a fan of R Stevie's work, which I think could create an entire new generation of fans for him. The filmmakers are just that, filmmakers, so somewhat lacking in PR, marketing and promotional experience. They still have a goal of about £6000 with ten days left to go. They even reached out to Pitchfork and Vice, but did not get much support. The crew's next move is to get an interview with Ariel, so they need help to get back to the US. If anyone here dabbles in the media (or knows someone who does) and could possibly spread this around, then that would be fantastic. Also, if you pledge, you can get one-of-a-kind R Stevie prizes. Excellent bribery, if you ask me.

i really hope that this will doc will be made! i chipped in last wk, and also i have been trying to spread the word on facebook. it seems like there's a ways to go still, i wonder why they didn't use indiegogo or some other site that lets u keep the money if u don't reach the goal?

They went above and beyond and got to 10k in the end, I think. So happy for them!

I was just watching an episide of the show "Catastrophe" and heard an R Stevie Moore song in the soundtrack. I recognized the song as "Pop Music" (from "Next") but it sounded like a different version or possibly a cover. Not every day you hear an RSM song on the tube. :delaware:

Probably a weird question, but is there a way to just casually contact Stevie? Like, is he cool with people just sending him e-mails asking him stuff? I've seen people on here talking about talking with him.

I'm hoping to meet R. Stevie this weekend. The Lemon Twigs are playing and he's driving down to see them, and possibly join them onstage for "I've Begun to Fall in Love". So I'll be there too and I hope I'm in a social mood so I don't second guess my way out of talking to him.
