Maus Space

I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

Going to see the Foo Fighters next weekend at Centennial Park. Not terribly excited about it but my wife wanted to go and a couple of tickets opened up for her. I like a lot of their early stuff and they've generally been good since then, but I just don't enjoy concerts very much anymore.

Rock and Roll!

Going to see The Soft Moon in London soon and I'll finally be able to meet up with my Swedish Maus friend who has been sending me badass minimal synth tracks over Facebook at 3am throughout the years. Never met a mausspacer/John Maus fan I didn't like rather a lot, so I am looking forward.

The Mew concert was the best concert I've ever seen in my life. Euphoria! And what a diverse crowd! music lovers abound
Paul McCartney is next, I see him on Thursday night
I missed the Kraftwerk show which is a bummer

Eleanor Rigby might be my favorite song ever, I can't believe I'll see him sing it live

We always make a point of seeing McCartney. He's the only guy for whom I'll spend that much money for a ticket (i.e. over $100). Imagine how fun/easy it must be for him to put a set list together. And he's got a super solid band that has been with him a long time. Funnily enough, they've been together longer than Wings ever were.

Don Preston's Akashic Ensemble!

Going to an experimental music performance tomorrow (yaaay!!) by electronics pioneer Don Preston (member of the 60s Mothers of Invention), my friend Andre' Cholmondeley who's played with everybody but who's best known for leading a Zappa tribute band called Project/Object (guitars, electronics) and Mike Dillon, a name I'm unfamiliar with but who's played with Primus apparently (vibes, percussion). I got a text from Andre's girlfriend tonight and they were over at their place practicing. I'm really trying to absorb as much experimental music inspiration as I can so this is pretty exciting.

I am contemplating getting VIP access for the Brian Wilson show in Philadelphia, which is going to be the last performance of Pet Sounds! I'm going to see it either way :arms:
