Maus Space

I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

Don't forget to bring your lighter and your fist pump, possiblegrenade.

MA and I are going to see Slutever with Fat Creeps and Mannequin Pussy the day after our birthday. :dancparty:
Also I've got another Upset the Rhythm show in London in March (at the same venue I saw John). I finally get to see Wild Nothing.

I'm going to see Calloused Labia in a fortnight... did you ever hear them? They are old pros and have a built-up toughness when it comes to hard criticism
:festive:

Lucky. Tell R. Stevie I said hi! And tell him he needs to get his Pooh pyjamas to the UK in the spring like he promised.

Upset the Rhythm presents Nobunny at The Windmill, Brixton in April. Also seeing him at the Shacklewell Arms the night before. UtR seems to put on the best shows in this country.

Throughout my recent trip to New York I managed to see:
Cosmonauts with Night Beats @ Glasslands, Sisu with Young Boys and Yellow Dogs @ Glasslands, Mudhoney with Pissed Jeans @ the Music Hall of Williamsburg, Foxygen with Amen Dunes @ the Knitting Factory, and No Joy with Weekend @ Glasslands.
Saw Chairlift DJing briefly at Great Googa Mooga in Prospect Park, then saw The Darkness, Flaming Lips and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Not really my kind of show, but I enjoyed the Flips (and the most excellent food and beer stalls). Then Sharon van Etten played in the park the last day I was there.

Tomorrow! Looking forward to a FREE show by outsider music legend Gary Wilson with support from my buddy, singer of Perfumeman, whom I met at R. Stevie Moore's show in London a few weeks back.

Hoping to get to as many of these in the future as I possibly can (bank account willing!):
Meat Puppets - June 2 @ the Fleece, Bristol
Chromatics/Glass Candy - June 12 @ Koko, London
Chelsea Light Moving - June 17 @ The Fleece, Bristol
The Babies + Fawn Spots - June 19 @ Start the Bus, Bristol
Warm Soda - July 16 @ The Louisiana, Bristol
Shannon and the Clams - Sept 12 @ Shacklewell Arms, London
Spizzenergi - October 19 @ The Fleece, Bristol
The Growlers - October 29 @ The Thekla, Bristol

I get to see The Growlers all lit up at night on a disused showboat- I can't wait!

It's Friday the 13th and I'm seeing Deerhunter tonight. It's been three years now. Beyond excited.
