Maus Space

I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

Didn't see a general topic for non-Maus and Ariel related gigs and I'm interested - what are fellow Maus Spacers going to?

I saw the conclusion of the River Rocks concert series at Pier 84 last night, a triple bill of DIIV, Wild Nothing and Grimes. Today I'm going to Little Dragon and Frankie Rose at Prospect Park Bandshell, on Sunday I've got an early 2 PM set by Eternal Summers at Fulton Stall Market and on Monday I'll probably go to an in-store performance from Nude Beach at Other Music.

I've got Public Image Limited in Bristol Monday night, then shooting straight off to London the next morning for John Maus at The Scala. :victory:
Have also got Adam Ant tickets for November (hope you get yours soon, MA, so you can come with!).

I'm bad with shows at the moment. I have either bailed at the last minute, or something else has come up. I've pencilled in Jacuzzi Boys and Ariel Pink, but we shall see!

I am jealous of you guys and your urban 'free gig' lifestyles. Around here I'd be lucky paying a £5 cover charge to see some pub rock tribute band.

Living in the Norwegian countryside sucks, music-wise. There's a music festival in my town every June that has a bunch of good, lesser-known bands, and where I usually do volunteer work, but that's about it.

I also volunteered at the Øya Festival in Oslo from August 7th to 11th, where I saw Bon Iver, War on Drugs, JOHN MAUS, Cloud Nothings, The Black Keys, Best Coast and more.
Went to Oslo with my dad to see Paul Simon on his Graceland tour in July.

If I have money, I'm going to Oslo again in October and November to see Tame Impala and Animal Collective.

Yet another freebie on Sunday, Afro-Punk festival at Commodore Barry Park with Toro Y Moi, Janelle Monae, TV On The Radio, etc.
