Maus Space

I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

Geneva Jacuzzi is amazing...well beyond conventional.
none of that cutesy indie bullshit either, you know, with that iPod xylophone formula everyone loves these days...

geneva is worth checking out. look for kooze control and rat killer. there's some overlap between the two, but there are a bunch of good tracks.

I think Love Caboose to death! It's such a perfect song. But none other on her album has kicked me the way Love Caboose did. I went to see her perform one night and it was rather terrible, I have to admit.

Check this out:

I have volume one...it's pretty good, but I think the best comp of this kind of music is Cold Wave and Minimal Electronics
Funny how a song from 2004 is being included with a bunch of 80s gems

Ha ha , its funny iwas just listening Geneva this morning when i saw this topic .
Anyway , i am very curious about this release because in my town there is people who organize minimal wave mix on vinyl so they play a lot of minimal waves label vinyls and the minimal waves tapes volume one .
And i spend my time to make them listen and talk to them about John Maus/Geneva Jacuzzi/ariel pink/R. Stevie moore , they are interested but it's still not enough radical and too much colorful for them (but I am still convinced that "maniac" will fit perfectly in their mix )
I will just see , when this will be out , if they will change their views about Geneva because it's approve by Stones Throw but to be honnest , i remember that "the sleep room" is pretty dark so maybe it's didn't really count.

oh ! and Annie of In Aeternam Vale , song subject - what happened to you? and Felix Kubin - Japan Japan are awesome songs .

Saw her play at the Echo last night. Holy shit what an awesome show! She played several new songs and I was able to record some of it. Not sure how good the sound/video quality is from my phone but I'm currently uploading it to youtube.

Did anyone else in LA catch this show? Violet Tremors were pretty fucking good as well.

Yeah, that's a microwave that she was in. She eventually tore it up and threw all the pieces in the crowd.
