Maus Space

I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

Seriously love "All Joy..." so much, and all the rest, but especially that one. Also, does anyone know the story behind the phone message prelude to "Hit or Miss?"

I adore Fantastic Light as well.
I was wondering the same. Who is on the other line and what was that 'cursed fucking video'?' I still think John pulverizes rock and roll in the best way possible, though.

Too bad "The Study" and "Galloping Madness" didn't make it onto this comp, eh?

Sort of in the same vein as the adhoc comment theses, here is some of john's writing from the putrid depths of the early 2000's. I think I found it deep in the belly of the abandoned demonstrationbootleg.com
This time he's is typically limerant, but for a different person, supposedly for the person at the center of Just Wait Till Next Year aka Love.

for some reason, this page is pasted into the middle: http://www.jurai.net/~bates/dead-totoro/01-20.html

http://www.mediafire.com/view/?g6l8gx9rzt7lw2h

only download if you're feelin' like a total creep

just caught this little snippet in VICE

[ img ]
JOHN MAUS
CA Collection of Rarities and Previously Unreleased Material
Ribbon Music

[ img ]"Lube is a really weird thing for lesbians because you don’t really need it (unless you’re doing butt stuff), but it just always feels like you should use it for some reason. It adds to the filth factor, or something. One time I bought this peach-flavored lube and could NOT wait to use it on my GF. But something weird was in it and, after getting a glob of it on my lips, I had an allergic reaction; they were all sensitive and puffy for a week. Moral of the story: Lesbians don’t need lube, and NO ONE needs this shit-sock of a record."

haha :rage:

So juvenile it's hardly worth responding to... :arms:
I really hate all these sexually frustrated "journos" with massive chips on their shoulders who think they are clever for managing to string three sentences together. Not even a good piece of writing like the P4K Love Is Real review, just awful and incredibly lazy.

Another one for John's myspace profile, I think. Perhaps that is what they were hoping for? I learned more about flavoured lubricant than I did anything about the record.

Hello everyone,
Just joined this forum and saw the post about John's interview with the Musikexpress. Has anyone managed to get hold of a copy? I'm bilingual English/German and a translator in my day job, so I would be happy to translate it into English and share it with all you good people.
If it's still in the shops, I can ask a friend in Germany to send it to me.
Cheers
