Maus Space

I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

never been a bad time. even if he had just sort of stopped and been a Tickley Feather type here-today-gone-tomorrow type. i don't even get obsessed with artists anymore, too old for that, but Censors is my favourite record of the decade so far, and i'm glad he's still out there fighting the fight.

Hello, I'm Corinne, I love John's songs! I only discovered him this year in April, my fb friend posted 'bennington girl' and I was hooked. Then I found 'do your best', 'keep pushing on' and 'i don't eat human beings', sustained me for a while there, got through some dark days. I was bummed to find out he hadn't played a show in years and that I had been completely oblivious to him in the 2007-2011 era of his music when I had been into Ariel, Animal Collective and even played a show with my old band down in la and we were hosted by Piper(puro instinct, she was the raddest girl).

When John announced his comeback to performing in August I quickly bought an airplane ticket, it was a good excuse to visit old friends and explore ny for the 1st time. I appreciate John's raw energy, I love his beats and subjects. :victory: :limp: You will find me at his shows front and center trying to jump as much as Maus Man.

Hey everybody. My name's Jared. I first heard about John about a year and a half ago after getting into Ariel Pink, but he didn't really click for me until this past fall. I was in kind of a rough place, for a number of reasons. Music had been really important in my life since I was a kid, but it was starting to lose its luster, along with everything else.
I had listened to Pitiless Censors when I first heard of John, but it didn't do much for me (except for Hey Moon, which I really liked, but it's a cover so...). I kinda forgot about him until last September, and I gave it another listen. I've been obsessed ever since. I saw him live in January (it was the first time leaving my house for something other than school or work for months) and it was the most amazing experience. I've been lurking here for a few months, and I figured I might as well officially join in.
No artist has had the same impact on me that he has. Maybe I'm a little late to the party, but I'm so glad I found him anyway.
