I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

Any recommendations for a good record player to purchase?
I'm new at collecting vinyl...I have records from the past that I've kept but now that I'm getting the Maus box set I really want a player.

Pro-Ject Debut III.

It has a USB output installed, which I like because I can easily convert LPs to digital by recording in Audacity (a pretty simple and cheap (or free? I forget) audio editing software). There are much lower quality "USB Turntables" out there, which I've been told to avoid. This one seems to be a quality turntable first, which just happens to have a USB output. And I'd say this unit is mid-range as far as price goes - one could easily pay much more for a better turntable, but this one's fine for me.

I found this a couple years back and got the $300 Audio-Technica. I've been very happy and it's served me well.
