Maus Space

I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

has anyone on this board had any experience with coding? y,know html, python, c++ etc.
i am currently investigating and planning to make a career change - though what i currently do is not much of a career, but let's not go into that.
i ain't no spring chicken (i'm 45) so i may be out of my depth here.
if you have any advice for me i would appreciate it.

for instance, am i kidding myself because i am too old to frequent myself among the hip, young savvy programmers out there?
is the learning curve too acute to pick up in the space of a couple of years to serve any usefulness to anyone, or does it require many more years of experience to be a valid programmer?
what are the most useful languages to learn? (from my research, python appears to be a good one to start with).
are there many opportunities for employment out there?

so many more questions. i feel i am in murky waters here as i am complete noob. the idea intrigues me though.

thanks in advance.

I'll ask my bro for you. He's in his late 30's and only has an Associates degree, but just picked up a new job locally where he will be getting 50 bucks an hour.
