My older sisters used to rent the above movie, a staple of my youth. First acquaintance with atrocious dubbing and whatnot.

What a cool movie. I think I like Fear's set the best.

Same! Though I dig them all!
I wish there were studio recordings by Catholic Discipline and more studio recordings by The Bags
I love how shambolic the Circle Jerks set is in DOWC
Did you see the 2006 doc American Hardcore? Pretty fun to see these folks all "grown" up!

I *think* so. Either that, or it was a similar documentary. That reminds me of a Youtube clip I watched once about The Reactionaries. The Reactionaries were an early version of the Minutemen (D, Mike and George, but with a guy named Martin Tamburovich on vocals). A few years ago, a bunch of rehearsal tapes of the Reactionaries (they had no official releases in their day) were gathered an released on an LP - about 10 songs filling up one LP side. In addition, all 10 songs were re-recorded by Mike Watt and various friends from that scene, and those 10 versions were put on the other side of the LP. This is a short documentary about those sessions.

I heard mixed reviews about this documentary, but I will judge for myself! Can't wait to watch it. The Stooges have been a favorite of mine for such a long time, and it seems that there is footage I've never seen before. What a treat 8D

I recommend you all take advantage of Filmstruck's free 2-week trial. And Netflix DVD's free 1-month trial. I've been watching plenty o movies these past few months. Good times :dancparty:

My wife and daughter loved it. I haven't seen it yet but I'm sure we'll get the DVD at some point. From all the previews I've seen, it looks like a nonstop barrage of self-referential gags and references to pop culture old and new. It looks like it would be funny for a while but it might grow old quick. All the wink-wink-get-it moments would eventually make my eye twitch. Funny how a lot of the "kid" movies these days (and I'll take the liberty of loosely classifying an animated superhero feature as a "kid movie", though that's debatable) are more geared towards the adults than the kids.

Manchester by the Sea was very good, Casey Affleck's understated performance was just amazing to watch

Seriously gutted over the loss of Bill Paxton today. He was a gem who always seemed so humble, grounded, and funny in a way most of Hollywood isn't.
