Maus Space

I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

Hey App, today I am wearing my 'Tacos and Tequila' drop arm vest I got from UO years ago and no-show taco patterned socks. Mexican food is colorful and yummy.
People need to dress up like that more often 8D
I'm getting emotional about Mexican food now

A Shepard tone, named after Roger Shepard, is a sound consisting of a superposition of sine waves separated by octaves. When played with the bass pitch of the tone moving upward or downward, it is referred to as the Shepard scale. This creates the auditory illusion of a tone that continually ascends or descends in pitch, yet which ultimately seems to get no higher or lower.

The aural equivalent of a mobius strip. Would be fun to play one of these over the PA for an hour or so before starting a gig, imo.

Love it. Can I borrow this idea?

Speech to song illusion:

Artikel:

https://aeon.co/essays/why-repetition-c ... into-music

Reminds me why I never liked serial music. Had to study it at uni, and it's hard for me to view it as anything other than a mistake, albeit an inevitable one given the way things were going at the time. (Admittedly I've since heard 2 brilliant pieces of serial music, composed by somebody with initials JM... 8D )

When I was a kid, we had a Dansette record player, and sometimes the records would get stuck, and one of my favourite childhood memories is the awesome, weird/funny aspect music would take on when it suddenly began looping.

Anyway, God bless Diana Deutsch!

Merry holidays to you fine Mausers. Though I don't believe in a holy, ubiquitous figure, I guess it's a good time for kith and kin to get together and be merry.
