Maus Space

I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

I wonder how much money it would cost for Ariel to play a show...I saw this thing on the news about how much you could pay certain celebrities to play a show. It said that Justin Bieber would cost one million. He'd have to pay me a lot for me to watch him, period. So that makes me wonder how much Ariel requests. Or do you think they play at whatever price to promote their lp?

That would be so cool to organize a concert if the right heads were together. It would only include Ariel, John & Geneva...maybe a few other acts |:o
And it would be in a really unconventional setting

I have thought about this a LOT.. I think we could get him alone for $3,500 - no HG and no eqpt. And that would be my price. I am not sure how much a stranger would have to pay.. I have never asked him but I dream about it a lot! I wanna open a vegetarian restaurant called WE GOT THE BEETS.. Ariel will play the grand opening and it will be fantastic!

I might be able to get Kenny for about $1,000 - but we would have to pay travel/lodging etc..

I have a friend who is married to a very important musician and we've discussed this before. She's told me that artists charge their own fees for private shows, but- as the promoter- you are obliged to provide equipment, accommodation, as well as visas (if it's not a domestic gig). You would also have to provide an invoice for the manager so the band/artist can pay their income tax.
Basically you would have to approach Ariel and ask first!
I would be completely on board with a mausspace show of this ilk. We could pledge for this to happen at a relatively accessible location. I would definitely make special travel arrangements for such an event!

We should think about having a Mausspace oriented show.
How cool would it be to have John Maus, Ariel Pink, Geneva, etc. all in the same place
hell we should start a kickstarter thing but ask John, Ariel and crew first
Naturally it would have to be in America
perhaps in John's home state ?
or between John's home state and CA
like effin Colorado
8D
yeh CO be the right place
now playing at the Solar Colosseum

I'm in. I have friends in the Midwest. We need John Maus in da haus.
I've mentioned this sort of thing before with my own proposed Couchella festival. Cut out the middle man. Artists come play to true fans in an intimate basement-type setting. We all get to know each other. Sleep on couches. No bouncers, barriers, or press pits. Maybe this is naïve and idealistic to dream of, but I miss these kinds of shows.

it hasn't been that long since ariel was playing house parties - since I've known him.. never in a place I was at, but I talked to him/them about it before.. I have no clue what his worth is but Tim told me he would probably give me a lap dance for $100..that was pretty funny - and a long time ago, of course.

he does value money - no doubt about that.

also and this is real - you have to consider 4AD...unless it is just secret like - not open to the public. He got in trouble for appearing on RSM's album for gawds sake... that seems really insane to me.. not big trouble - more like scolded.

of course, I like the idea of Colorado! maybe we could just rent a bunch of hotel rooms and book up a whole floor or something.. I was thinking that because the hotel I stayed at when I went to see him in Denver was having a rave on one floor.

Count me in on this music fanatics' pipe dream! But only if it's in Colorado. Really.
Seriously, Kate, get on this ASAP! (If you have the time)
You're probably the only one who could make this happen, besides LL.
AP, JM, GJ, RSM, and any other volunteers...if we can afford it collectively
