Maus Space

I've continually had a liking for the mystical, but it wasn't until I matured a little iota that I discovered John Maus!

I think it might be too! Because who's going to Dekalb to see Ariel? I will, I hope not a bunch of people are there. If anything it will be a lot of people from Chicago. I live 1 hour 1/2 - 2 hours from Dekalb, but I think it will be worth the drive.
I would like to record the show, but I don't have decent enough equipment. I've used my phone to recorded shows before, it sounds good. but it's just not "deep" enough. The tones just don't sound as good as they should.
But pictures WILL be taken :D

But nothing limited for the last tour? I'm guessing for the vinyls and cds it's just his main in-print albums. Nothing like FF and Loverboy there, right?
But it would be cool to get a Ariel pink shirt! Maybe a Doldrums shirt???

I try to pay attention to how far they have to drive when deciding if it will be a good show. I think with Dekalb you will be in good shape. They will be able to leisurely drive over from Chicago and hopefully they can get some decent food in Chicago too. :)

i'm kind of jealous. I really wanted to go to the show. I keep saying next time they are in Chicago, I will go up, but it never seems to work out.

Most of the older CDs they have had for sale were the pawtracks ones. House arrest, doldrums and worn copy. I remember there being lots of those and then just some other random stuff thrown in boxes.Of course, they had Mature Themes too. And buttons. lots and lots of buttons! I think I have about 2,500 so far to give them....10 more days for me!! I can't wait. I miss Ariel.

The t-shirts are usually different each tour. I don't think I have ever seen the same one twice, so no telling! not much chance you will find Loverboy on vinyl, although you are in good company if you are looking for it. :)

Jealous? You are going to the Portland show AND the New New Orleans show, that's pretty awesome! But granted, those shows will be a little more full then ones in the midwest. I always wanted to go to a show in New Orleans, I've been down there before, to visit family, and was going to go again. Lighting bolt was playing at the time, I was also very close too. But...Then the big storm hit. So I retreated to Texas.

What type of buttons are you making? I'll probably buy a couple! But that's good to know about the merch, I only own one of his albums (Mature Thems) and it would be nice to get some more of his stuff. I could always see if he could send me a copy of Loverboy on a cd-r

Now I just need to get some money together, let me know how much the shirts, or other stuff in genaral will run me. Don't want to miss on anything!!!

I think t-shirts are usually $25. the CDs are $15 and vinyl is $25 maybe? I do remember the worn copy vinyl was more, maybe $30?

Oh, they are 1" buttons.. I make tons of different ones. I am sure there are pics around here somewhere.

I'm seeing them in Minneapolis. If anyone sees them before May 31st could you take photos of the merch? I want to know if I should get some money before the show. Haven't seen Ariel Pink yet, and I'm really excited.

I'm curious about what the line up is. Will Kenny be drumming like the past few shows? I wonder if they've practiced other songs to include in setlists that weren't played over the fall tour.

Ariel Pink show was fun last night in SD. He played a good mix of old and new songs.

Doldrums, House Arrest, Worn Copy, and Ku Klux Glam on vinyl. There were a couple of other things on the table but I forgot what they were. Didn't see any apparel, just vinyl and CDs. I was going to buy Doldrums on vinyl, but no one was at the merch table.

They posted this flyer on their FB page and I was excited to see Holy Shit open for them, but they didn't play. :arms:

That's super disappointing.... I wonder if they played ANY of the other dates...
From what I hear, it wouldn't be the first time Holy Shit disappointed people.

see, this is why Ariel needs to just go ahead and hire me to be his personal assistant. I would have taken care of ALL of that.

maybe the t-shirts are just late - it has happened before.

was kenny on drums, ricky?
