Friday I'm seeing The Afghan Whigs at Terminal 5, then Adam Ant at the Best Buy Theater on Saturday.

Yeah I felt a bit like a toad between those 2 to be honest! They seem like friendly and genuine people as well as a very talented band playing to their increasing strengths.

Caught the Dum Dum Girls in-store at Other Music last night. Got to chat to them and they all signed the new EP afterwards, here's a pic of me with Jules and Sandy.

Went to Widowspeak, Molly's vocals being so low in the mix gave the songs an underwhelming, hazy lethargy...Shame because the record is so good! Today I'll be in Central Park all day for 'Global Festival' - Neil Young, Foo Fighters, The Black Keys, Band of Horses, K'naan. Not really my thing overall...

Definite compulsive head-nodding groove going on there! I have discovered loads of obscure new stuff that I am absolutely loving (some with a mere 47 last fm listeners), mainly punky garage-y bands, but they will remain secret til my next mix CD is ready - got to trim and tighten it up durin...

I am listening to the debut LP of Cum Stain - sleazy and in your face, yet somehow transcends novelty and is actually pretty enjoyable.

Hoping to go to a free Widowspeak show at the Brooklyn Bowl later but not sure if I have RSVP'd successfully...

Still listening to the Grizzly Bear discography after their pristine performance at Radio City Music Hall on Monday night. Superbly crafted arrangements impeccably executed, and their intricate vocal harmonising was just pure pleasure to listen to live.

Yeah it's a very loose nod to John, I suppose - the song only has one recurring moment which is 'John-like' to me, if I watched it without knowing I might not have noticed there was any reference intended. The guest who comes in does seem to be dressed like him and have the hairstyle as mamamaus poi...

I think someone asked before but there weren't any replies. I was thinking about it again in the general music forum, too. Obviously if it's personal and none of my business, fair enough, but I am curious - as you say there have been many references to an afterlife and also a definite focus on Chris...
